Clerkenwell, Chelsea and Kings Cross: MoDA are out and about!

Staff from the Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture will be out and about next week, speaking at a variety of events.

Our newest member of staff, Collections Assistant Jacqueline Winston Silk is taking the plunge at Museums Show Off, which will be held at the Slaughtered Lamb pub in Clerkenwell on 12th May, at 7.30pm.  Jacqueline will have nine minutes to talk about nine objects from MoDA's collections!  Buy a ticket to cheer her on - all proceeds go to the DEC Nepal Earthquake Appeal.

Head of Collections, Zoe Hendon will be taking part in the Victorian Futures conference at Chelsea College of Arts – organised jointly by Chelsea, Middlesex University and the V&A Museum on 14th and 15th May.  Zoe's paper is about the Silver Studio collection, and the fact that a number of objects from the Silver Studio found their way into the V&A in the 1960s, before the rest of the collection was given to Hornsey College of Art.

And last, but by no means least, MoDA's Curator Sim Panaser will be taking our popular format of ‘In Conversation’ events on tour to the House of Illustration in King’s Cross on Saturday 16th May.  Sim will be giving participants the chance to take a close look at some of the 1950s magazines from MoDA's collections, and relating them to the Mac Conner exhibition currently on show at the House of Illustration.   This is a free event but places are limited, so please email to book your place.

If you're coming along to any of these events, do say hello - we'd love to meet you!
